Happy March from the team of Family Orthodontics! It’s officially a whole year since life changed unexpectedly last March with the spread of Covid-19. On today’s blog, Dr. West reflects on a year of the “New Normal” and the challenges his team faced in an unprecedented time.
The biggest challenge of last year was having to close the office for 7 weeks. The team was eventually able to reopen our doors with plenty of new safety procedures in place such as temperature checks, deep sanitization of commonly touched areas, and having patients fill out Covid-19 paperwork prior to entry. Through this, the team learned that they can overcome any obstacle!
In the office, the health and safety procedures are still in place. If you aren’t already aware, temperature checks are performed on everyone prior to entry, strong social distancing is maintained, and we frequently sanitize commonly touched areas. After we reopened our office in May, Dr. West was pleased to notice most of his patients returned and were able to stay on track with their treatment. Nicely done everyone!
In a time that is unlike any other, it is highly important to manage stress and practice self-care. Making time for self-care every day gives us an opportunity to relax and focus on ourselves during a time where everything seems unnatural even if we are starting to get used to it. Our team manages stress by talking with each other and allowing ourselves time each day to decompress by doing stuff we enjoy like getting outside to exercise or watching a good movie with loved ones.
We hope everyone continues to stay safe and healthy. We can’t wait to see your smile in our office again soon.
